LinkedIn Profile
Peter Cabauy, Ph.D. is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of City Labs, Inc., the leader in commercial nuclear micropower technologies for space, defense, and autonomous systems. Under his leadership, City Labs achieved the world’s first general license for a commercial nuclear battery, the first FAA authorization for a commercial nuclear payload, and recently launched BOHR (Betavoltaic Orbital High-Reliability), the world’s first commercial nuclear-powered satellite.
Dr. Cabauy earned his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of Michigan. His work focuses on enabling long-duration radioisotope power and thermal systems for lunar exploration, deep-space missions, and national security applications.
Ants, with their minute energy consumption ranging from nanowatts to microwatts, masterfully sense, compute, and forage, all powered by short-term chemical energy. This marvel of nature hints at the immense potential of nuclear micropower. By harnessing our tritium power source and its incredible longevity, we can enable previously impossible feats, opening a new horizon of innovation in sensors, microelectronics, and new technologies.
